Mission of The Linnton Community Center

The purpose of the Linnton Community Center (LCC) is to enrich life, build character, and develop a community consciousness for the benefit of all persons who live or work in the Linnton & surrounding communities.

The Linnton Community Center has been a beacon since its construction in 1926, consistently providing a community gathering place, educational programs, recreation and community events. Over the years the demographics, geography and socioeconomics of the community have changed. We have responded by both adding and tailoring existing programs to meet the needs of the community as it grows.

Historic Linnton combines the best of Portland. Nestled along the Willamette River and Forest Park, its gateway location — five miles northwest of downtown and three miles southeast of Sauvie Island — makes it a natural haven for people who appreciate a strong sense of place, civic pride, and quirky isolation.

Winner of the 2005 Spirit of Portland Award, the community of Linnton is proud of its neighborhood involvement. Our residents include a diverse mix of professionals, artists and salt-of-the-earth working folks who champion unity, independence and a rustic spirit.
